Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is the medical branch in which radiopharmaceutical substances are used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and H. pylori detection (C-14 urea breath test) is performed in patients with ulcer. Radiopharmaceuticals are given to the patients intravenously, orally or via inhalation and intra-articular injection for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Radiation taken by the patients during the procedure is lower than CT.

-Gastrointestinal System Diseases (Stomach, Intestine, Liver and Biliary diseases)
-Cancer
-Others

Pulmonary embolism- Lung Perfusion/Ventilation Scintigraphy,

Lachrymal Duct Obstruction- Lachrymal Duct Scintigraphy,

Salivary Gland Diseases- Salivary Gland Scintigraphy,

Infection, abscess, unexplained fever -Ga-67 or labeled Leukocyte Scintigraphy,

Diabetic foot - labeled Leukocyte Scintigraphy, Bone Marrow Scintigraphy.
